I found this CD in an op shop a couple of days ago, and I’m so glad to finally own a copy of Canadian act Delerium’s album “Karma”!
It’s funny, but I worked in a Brashs (a now non existent Australian electronics and music retail chain) store when this was released, and even though I played the CD in store I didn’t realise Single Gun Theory’s Jacqui Hunt was the writer and vocalist on “Euphoria (Firefly)”.
This is the album that spawned the monster hit “Silence” (vocals by Sarah McLachlan), thanks to a huge trance remix by Tiësto. According to Jacqui, Rabbit In The Moon’s remix of “Euphoria (Firefly)” also won a Juno Award.
Formed as a side project by the duo of Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber of industrial act Frontline Assembly, Delerium were signed to Volition’s Canadian “sister label” Nettwerk, which also released Single Gun Theory, Severed Heads and Boxcar in the North American market.
More about the Volition / Nettwerk connection later!
